Food Handler Training Course

All Putnam County employees that handle food and/or wash dishes are required to complete food handler training and obtain a valid food service worker card within 30 days of hire.

Putnam County Health Department offers in-person training once per month. The training is held at the Health Department in Winfield.

In order to attend a food handler training you must call (304)757-2541 and register with the Health Department at least 24 hours before the class is set to take place. There must be at least 5 attendees registered in order for the Health Department to conduct a class. If there is not a complete roster of at least 5 people, the class will be canceled, and you will be notified.

One-year certification costs $10. Two-year certification costs $20.
